METALLICA'S ULRICH HAILS NOISY U.K. FANS. LEAVES STALET TRIBUTE OFF ALBUM!

http://www.exposay.com/celebrity-photos/lars-ulrich-2005-vanity-fair-oscar-party-0KnG1k.jpg
METALLICA star LARS ULRICH has hailed the band's British followers the most vocal - because they get shouting practice at soccer games. The drummer claims his U.K. fans are much louder than their American counterparts because they spend a lot of time in the nation's soccer stadiums. He says, "In England they sing along to everything. Whether it's football, Metallica or a political rally, the British always make noise."

Meanwhile, METALLICA frontman JAMES HETFIELD penned a touching musical tribute to tragic ALICE IN CHAINS star LAYNE STALEY - but decided it wasn't good enough for the band's new album DEATH MAGNETIC. The frontman admits he didn't really know the late star, who died from a drug overdose in 2002, but his tragic demise inspired him to write many of the dark tracks on Metallica's new album.

And one track, Shine, was written all about Staley. Hetfield tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I know (Alice In Chains star) Jerry Cantrell quite well and learned about Layne through him... I could see some of the things Jerry went through to keep that band together.
"I started writing a song around a Layne Staley type - a rock 'n' roll martyr magnetised by death. Why did he choose that path, someone with such talent?"
Metallica recorded Death Magnetic with a photograph of Staley taped to the wall of their studio control room.

INSOMNIA TROUBLE FOR DADDY TO BE PETE WENTZ!

Rocker PETE WENTZ has to carefully balance the sleeping pills he takes to nod off at night - because a wrong dosage keeps him awake hallucinating. As well as anxiety, attention deficit disorder (ADD) and depression, the Fall Out Boy star suffers from insomnia and needs help getting to sleep. He tells Playboy magazine that without medication he can only sleep for an hour at a time. Wentz explains,

"If I don't take an Ambien, I'll sleep for an hour. With Ambien, I'll sleep from 2am to seven (am). But, if you don't fall asleep, Ambien makes you hallucinate.
"About four months ago I took Ambien and almost set the house on fire." And the fact that his wife Ashlee Simpson is pregnant only serves to make matters worse: "She goes to bed at eight... so it's just me and the dogs, hanging out. You don't even know the transcendent conversations we have."

He also suffers from such anxiety whenever he's in public places, he has to pop Xanax pills to avoid freaking out. The newly-married rocker admits to using the anti-anxiety medication to help him sleep and cope in airports and at concerts when he's recognised. He tells Playboy magazine,
"(I'm anxious) anytime attention is on me but I'm not in control of the situation. If I'm at someone else's concert, that freaks me out really bad. "If I have to meet a group of people, if I'm at a party, if I'm at an airport."
And Wentz insists his longterm dependence on manic imbalance medication, which helps him control attention deficit disorder, depression and anxiety, means he has to pop a lot of pills: You wouldn't want to know what my Xanax tolerance is. It's very, very high."

Trust me I know these things as a pharmacist. Wait till that baby of Ashlee arrives. He better get his sleeping pills ready as they will be up all night long. Just ask Nicole Richie and Joel Madden's baby!

OASIS' NOEL GALLAGHER PLANS TV SITCOM

Rocker NOEL GALLAGHER has plans for his next career move - he wants to write a TV comedy. The guitarist will team up with British comedian Russell Brand to pen a sitcom when he finally retires from music. And he insists the show would be a hit - because he and Brand are total opposites. Gallagher says,

"I'd like to be part of a team of scriptwriters. I think I'd be good. Russell has been trying to rope me into something but at the moment I can't commit to anything outside Oasis. But, one day. Who knows?"
The Wonderwall hitmaker says their best comedy could emerge from the difference between his upbringing in the north of England and Brand's childhood in the southern county of Essex. He must have recovered from the concert attack. He adds:
"Russell's a big posh Essex boy former junkie who's been to the dark side and got into Hare Krishna. He's never seen a council estate. "I'm a gruff Northerner who drinks Red Stripe. He finds that fascinating. He's all 'But Noel darling, don't you believe in a higher existence?' and I'm like, 'Not dressed in a sheet banging a tambourine, you big Jessie'."

BREAKING TRAGIC NEWS: Pink Floyd member Richard Wright dies Monday age 65 from cancer.

A Pink Floyd spokesman says founding member Richard Wright has died. He was 65.

Wright died Monday after a battle with cancer at his home in Britain. His family did not want to give more details about his death. The spokesman is Doug Wright, who is not related to the artist. Richard Wright met Pink Floyd members Roger Waters and Nick Mason at college and joined their early band Sigma 6.

Sigma 6 eventually became Pink Floyd and Wright wrote and sang some of the band's key songs. He wrote "The Great Gig In The Sky" and "Us And Them" from Pink Floyd's 1973 "The Dark Side Of The Moon."

He left the group in the early 1980s to form his own band but rejoined Pink Floyd for their 1987 album "A Momentary Lapse of Reason."

FEMALE ROCKER PINK CONSIDERS ADOPTION.

http://www.enjoyfrance.com/images/stories/world/entertainment/pink-pop-star.jpg
Pop star PINK would rather adopt a child than give birth - because there are too many people in the world already. The singer, real name Alecia Moore, and first-husband Carey Hart split in February (08). The Trouble hitmaker insists she hasn't given up hope of having a family but would rather "rescue" a child through adoption than have one of her own. She tells U.S. tabloid Star: "I don't know if I need to have my own (children). I rescue dogs, so I would probably rescue kids. I feel like with global warming and all, why produce more? Foster parent. Adoption."

Better be a girl, so everything can be pink. LOL!

SIXX CONSIDERS BURNING HIS JOURNALS!!

MOTLEY CRUE star NIKKI SIXX is considering burning his diaries - because he can't control what becomes of his musings after he's dead. The bass player made headlines with his Heroin Diaries book - based on items written in his past journals - but he has no plans to be that honest again. And he doesn't want to upset his loved ones after he's gone. Sixx says, "It's (Heroin Diaries success) really brought to my attention, glaringly, that I wouldn't want any of my other diaries to ever be read. "When the day comes that I pass, I won't be able to control that. So I've been considering burning them so that I can leave those tales untold."

I bet Nikki's Journals are very juicy. Did you catch the band last week in T-Dot?

POLICE TO PLAY FAREWELL ON COSTELLO SHOW.

The image “http://thealternakids.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/the_police_wideweb__470x3130.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

THE POLICE have paid back ELVIS COSTELLO for supporting them on the last leg of their North American tour by taping their final performance for his upcoming TV variety show. The trio recorded an episode of Spectacle: Elvis Costello With... on the eve of their final show in New York earlier this month (Aug08). During the show, the bandmates chatted about their reunion and performed a unique mash-up of The Police's Walking On The Moon with Costello's Watching The Detectives. Costello's new chat and music show will debut on America's Sundance Channel later this year (08). Other guests include Tony Bennett and former U.S. President Bill Clinton.

WILSON COMMENDS GALLAGHER'S PR SKILLS.

KAISER CHIEFS frontman RICKY WILSON is impressed with OASIS rocker NOEL GALLAGHER's self-promotion skills - branding the star "a publicity machine". Gallagher took aim at Wilson's British band earlier this month (Aug08), comparing the group to 1960s light-hearted music troupe The Monkees. And Wilson has commended Gallagher's public relations skills - because in every interview he has recently fulfilled, the questioning links back to the Wonderwall hitmaker. Wilson says,

"He's really clever because every interview I've done in the last week has mentioned Oasis. "So I'm answering questions about their new record and he ends up in everybody's interviews. He is a publicity machine."
Noel Gallagher should be here next week for the Virgin Mobile music festival.

METALLICA'S HETFIELD'S DAILY BATTLE WITH BOOZE.

http://laranjamecanica.files.wordpress.com/2007/07/james-hetfield.jpg
METALLICA rocker JAMES HETFIELD is struggling to stay off alcohol as the band embark on another world tour. The singer is a recovering alcoholic, who has managed 12 years without booze. But he admits its a hard temptation to resist - particularly when the band is on the road. Hetfield says, "The temptation to drink is with me for ever. When you've done something a certain way for so long, doing it a different way is difficult. "You start to doubt yourself. I'll never be cured. It's one of those things that I'll have to deal with all my life."

James and his double beard is so cute! Good for you bro! Alcohol has killed so many drivers in Ontario this summer alone. It's a nightmare when I hear that word AL-CO-HOL!

IS KID ROCK BEEFING ON TOUR AGAIN?

http://www.biezanow.net/~skowronek/Kadra%20KP/KidRockSG.jpg
Southern rock stars LYNYRD SKYNYRD and KID ROCK have denied mounting tensions dampened their ongoing tour after they stormed the stage at a recent New York concert. The chart-topping duo - currently on their Rock and Rebels North American tour this summer (08) - took the stage at the city's Bryant Park to perform a free concert for a legion of loyal fans on breakfast show Good Morning America on Friday (22Aug08). Rock sung his revamped version of the group's classic 1974 hit Sweet Home Alabama as he was joined on stage by Lynyrd Skynyrd frontman Johnny Van Zant.

And the pair were quick to assure the ageless crowd they've kept the peace despite living in cramped quarters as they travel across the U.S. Rock says: "We go back like a spinal cord. We've been friends for a lot of years and have done a lot of stuff together. And I've been fortunate to learn so much from this great band and just be friends, and now we're on the road and it couldn't be better."

METALLICA HIRES OLYMPIC BACK DOCTOR.

http://www.tech2.com/media/images/2007/Jul/img_11932_metallica_450x360.jpg

Rock legends METALLICA are sharing their on-tour chiropractor with the Seychelles Olympic team. The medic, simply named Dr Don, has to jet between dates on the band's current road trip and Beijing, China - where he is working on the Indian Ocean nation's athletes. Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich reveals, “Don is the hardest working guy on this tour. He’s the guy who puts our spines back in place. Whenever somebody’s arm flies off or somebody’s shoulder falls off. He’s there.”

Which one of you guys has the back problem? I know it ain't Lars. He's always sitting pounding dem drums!
