VIDEO OF THE MOMENT: Point Blank (Feat. Mark Mckay) - God Only Knows [Underground]

Point Blank's debut album, Point Blank is noted in an article by Jesse Plunkett currently featured on Allhiphop.com. With a groundbreaking first single "Born and Raised in the Ghetto" giving way to the group's first Much Music Video Award nomination in 2007; in addition to the amount of attention the group has garnered to date, it's no surprise the group is mentioned in an article titled: "Canadian Invasion: Coming to America". The article highlights the public anticipation for the self-tilted album, since the release of their first single last year: THE ALBUM IS ALMOST HERE IN AUGUST!!!!

Soulja Boy CNN News: I AM GONNA START RAPPING MYSELF!

600,000 ALBUMS sold, 127,000 digital downloads in one day and 3-million ringtones.
CNN examines this wonder called Soulja Boy Tell-em. Like Al Green called them during his acceptance speech " The Academy of BET" (LoL! There is no such academy) who gave Green a Lifetime award were not thinking well when they picked the BEST NEW ARTIST! The Dream got it, was not there and the real winner should have been this young man! He is opening a Back to school gig here in Toronto September 2008....all ages! Even a newborn can come....and I intend to interview him and have him teach me that dance on videotape. Let's hope Gilliano is not sick that day! He will simply be FIRED as my PA!

RZA! RZA!RZA! RZA!RZA! RZA!RZA! RZA!RZA! RZA!

How do you address an artist with so many aliases? Do you call him Bobby Digital? Rzarector? Prince Rakeem? But these are all characters he channels in his music - he's always RZA. The hip-hop icon and Wu-Tang mastermind brings indulgent hedonist, Bobby Digital back to life with his latest solo release, Digi Snacks. RZA will perform July 3 at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, July 4 in Ottawa and July 26 at Wakestock in Toronto. The National Post is the Washington Post of Canada and reputably interviewed him.

BACK IT UP!!! Popular DJ Calvin Harris loses laptop with entire record in production!

Scottish DJ CALVIN HARRIS has started work on his second album, two months after losing a laptop containing an entire record at London's Heathrow airport. The Acceptable in the 80s hitmaker lost a bag, during containing the only copy of his sophomore LP after returning from a trip to America in March (08). When it was eventually returned, the music was ruined, forcing Harris to start from scratch. But just weeks on, the 24-year-old is already well on the way to creating a new and even better album.

He writes on his blog, "At the moment I have about ten songs 30 per cent finished, and six songs 60 per cent finished, full vocals count for 40 per cent. It's going to be awesome, I'm very excited.
"Especially with the volume of boringly-produced nasty dance tracks at an all time high right now - it'll be good to come back next year with something interesting, and above all, danceable." Calvin baby, see what my desk looks like now. That thing near the monitor is my external hard drive and it's bigger in space than my computer hard drive.

WEEKEND VIDEO: "UNTOUCHABLE" by Canada's 1st Lady of hip-hop EYEZ!

These days, female rappers are getting bad reputations everywhere you look. Eve likes to fight every now and then, L'il Kim has done a year in prison for lying to a Federal jury, Foxy Brown just came out from her one year at Rikers Island Prison and now Remy Ma has gone there for 8 years for shooting another woman. There still are some positive rappers out there. One such is the Canadian FIRST LADY of hip-hop EYEZ! Gorgeous, talented, brilliant and highly marketable. The demand for collabs with her is so high, they're playing her on Toronto's Flow 93.5FM, MuchMusic on Demand and Hot 97FM NYC. I will be interviewing my gurl this weekend here in our hometown of T-Dot. Meanwhile watch her video up there OVER and OVER.....and yes! She's UNTOUCHABLE in REAL LIFE too! She's got Italian blood in her. Her dad/Manager is the great and multitalented Italian-Canadian mogul Lucio Vitale. Wanna get in touch with Lucio, Call Me!

Rapper Coolio takes his cooking show to the U.K.

Rapper COOLIO is in talks to move his online U.S. reality TV cooking show to Britain. The Gangsta's Paradise hitmaker, 44, launched his show Cookin' With Coolio earlier this year (08) - a culinary programme teaching viewers about "soul food" dishes. And he's anxious to film a second installment of the internet-broadcast show far from his native California. He says, "We're actually ready to start shooting our second season. We have an offer to start shooting in England. So right now, I'm trying to carve out my international rights." Hope he gets a visa to enter even though the show's online. He may have to actually visit over there. Wasn't he a gangsta before?

LOOK AT ME NOW: Singer Estelle thanks record label for dropping her!

British rapper/singer ESTELLE is glad she was dropped by the record label which released her debut album - insisting the knock-back has made her stronger. The star was dumped by V2 Records after her first single 1980 failed to make the U.K. chart's top ten in 2004. She failed to make a major impact on the British music charts until her latest hit American Boy shot to the number one spot in March (08).

And the star, who was quickly signed by John Legend's Homeschool label after her departure from V2, is thankful the set-back happened - stating singers must first struggle in order to "prosper". She says, "I look at it like building a mountain. If you get placed at the top at the start, you'd fall down quickly. You have to be confident to survive in this industry. "You have to be screwed greatly by one label to prosper."

FANTASTIC: The Ludacris Foundation turns 5!

Luda and Ciara at the event

Luda and mom Roberta Shields at the event

Me and Ms Roberta Shields (Luda's mom) when I interviewed her in 2004
When Bill O'Reilly managed to convince Pepsi to drop Ludacris from an ad campaign, he proved himself wrong. Ludacris created a foundation to help youth help themselves. At the one year anniversary, I remember interviewing Ms Roberta Shields, his mom about what message she had for O'Reilly! She replied...."5 years from now, watch my son change the world." It's now 5 years and Luda has entertained us in movies, he's on a new upcoming environmental reality show, he's just opened a reastaurant in Atlanta, he visited his old high school where he was previously banned? He has won several industry awards and even more. A couple of days ago, the foundation turned 5 and I wanna say congrats to Ludacris, Ms Roberta and the whole staff of the Ludacris Foundation! More pictures at Sandra's site.

BANNED IN THE PAST: Ludacris returns to his old High School!

UPDATE: That trip went very well with Producer Killer Mike and his cousin-in-law Monica also tagging along. Can you imagine, the Principal used to ban him there!! All photos are on Sandra's website.
Just like I visit schools in the U.S for 10 years talking about SADD (Students against destructive decisions) Some of you gave me that nice award at C.W Jeffreys last winter when I came to your school. It's not all about awards, I have millions of those. It's about giving back.

Rapper-turned-actor LUDACRIS will return to his former high school to give advice to troubled students. On Tuesday (13May08), Ludacris - real name Christopher Bridges - will visit Benjamin Banneker Academic High School in Atlanta, Georgia, to address students about various concerns facing teenagers today, including rape, gang violence and the pressure to sell drugs. According to event organiser Tory Edwards, students have prepared for the ceremony by writing anonymous letters voicing their problems, which will later be placed in a casket and buried.

The star will also plant a tree on the school's campus, which plans to name one of its gymnasiums the Christopher Bridges Gym Of Dreams in the star's honour. The visit will be filmed for a documentary series about the hip-hop star, tentatively titled Behind The Mic. And Bill O'Reilly thinks Rappers like Ludacris are full of bad lyrics..........Above is Luda and I at just the very same place......in a school doing our thing in 2004!

"CARTERXCELLENCE": Rapper Jay-Z Creates Trust for Sean Bell’s Children.

The rapper Jay-Z has established an educational trust for the two children of Sean Bell, the unarmed man shot and killed by the police in November 2006 on the day he was to be married, allhiphop.com reported. Last month the three policemen tried for Mr. Bell’s death were acquitted of all charges by a New York judge. Mr. Bell’s fiancĂ©e, Nicole Paultre Bell, has been appearing in “I Will Not Lose,” an advertising campaign for Rocawear, a clothing company founded by Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter.

With the kind of money Jay makes these days, Live Nation and all-- he definitely loves to give back to the community. Remember when Jay was jailed for stabbing Lance"Un" Riviera in 1999? I never could dream that he will ever become "something" today! Good work Jigga!!!

New Video: Baby D "I'm bout Money."

The Oomp Camp. I did a great interview with them in ATL back in 2004. I just saw this video that Baby D shot off the new album "A Town Secret." There's an old photo with Baby D and L'il C at some radio station concert in the 99 degree summer. That boy never ages. In 4 years he looks like the black "Dick Clark." I used to get away with raggedy blonde wigs in those days! LOL!
