Rapper DMX arrested at Phoenix mall on felony charge of ID theft!!

Rapper DMX has been arrested AGAIN at a Phoenix mall on a felony charge of taking the identity of another. Phoenix police didn't have details of the charge, as it stemmed from a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office case. Hill says DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was taken for booking into the Maricopa County jail.

The musician/actor has had a recent string of run-ins with the law, including an arrest at Phoenix Sky Harbour Airport earlier this month on outstanding warrants after he failed to appear in court. The week before, he was arrested in Miami on charges of attempting to purchase cocaine and marijuana. DMX was also arrested on July 2, June 27, June 23, May 9 and May 7 of this year.

Is this guy being targeted or what? Don't celebs have phony names and identities anyway? Move the hell out of Arizona!

Page's drug charges prompt Barenaked Ladies to cancel upcoming kids show!!!

Drug possession charges against the Barenaked Ladies lead singer Steven Page have prompted the band to cancel a scheduled performance at a children's concert in New York. Following the release of their first children's album "Snacktime," the band was slated to perform at next month's Disney Music Block Party on Long Island. But in a statement posted on the band's website, manager Terry McBride said the "Ladies" chose to cancel the concert out of respect for the sponsor. More at Impaired Stars.

AKON'S TRIAL DELAYED!

LATEST: R&B star AKON's court hearing for alleged misdemeanour endangerment and harassment charges has been delayed. The Smack That hitmaker pleaded not guilty to charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment in December (07). He was accused of the charges following an incident while performing in New York in June (07).

It is alleged a fan threw an object at the star, which encouraged him to retaliate. Akon - real name Aliuane Badara Thiam - was due in court on Wednesday (16Jul08) but it has now been delayed until August (08). The alleged victim's mother, Patricia Smith called the hearing "pretty typical," adding of the latest setback: "People can just hang in there long enough until the case goes in their favour." Akon could face one year and 15 days in jail if convicted.

"Smack that" says the fan's mom, but is this the latest thing now? Even Amy grabbed a fan after he pulled her hair. Never bother the artist on stage! That's their time!

NATE DOGG STAYS IN THE POUND!!

LATEST: Troubled rapper NATE DOGG will remain behind bars after failing to raise bail money following his stalking arrest. The star, real name Nathaniel Hale, was arrested on 23 June (08) after a car chase with his estranged wife. He was charged with three felony counts of making criminal threats and stalking, and one misdemeanour count of driving with a suspended license.

After a court appearance in Los Angeles on Wednesday (16Jul08), the wheelchair-bound rap star was remanded into custody and bail was set at $100,000. He was also ordered to stay 100 yards away from his ex-wife, Latoya. Hale will remain in custody until he can come up with the bail money.

MRS SHANTE DOGG CLEARED OF DUI!

SNOOP DOGG's wife has been cleared of driving under the influence of marijuana, because police failed to provide enough evidence against her. Shante Broadus was pulled over in the early hours of 14 June (08) while driving in Fullerton, California. She was detained and booked on DUI charges. But the Orange County District Attorney has rejected the case, claiming there is insufficient evidence to prove her driving was impaired. Broadus married the rapper, real name Calvin Broadus, in 1997.

BOOTS RILEY FACES OBSCENITY CHARGES!

Rapper BOOTS RILEY has been charged with an obscure obscenity law after using foul language at a show in Virginia. Riley and his group The Coup were performing at a festival in Norfolk on 21 June (08) when local police in the crowd took exception to his abusive language.

But Riley claims the charges against him, which haven't been used for 26 years, are racist. He says, "I stayed and debated the validity of the charge with police and festival promoters and it is clear that this is part of a larger debate that has nothing to do with profanity. That debate is about racism, gentrification and the ownership of public space." Riley is the first entertainer to be charged with public profanity in Norfolk.

For the second time last week, Rapper DMX was arrested in Miami. The 37-year-old, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested Friday on charges of attempting to purchase cocaine and attempting to purchase marijuana, according to a Miami-Dade Police Department arrest report. Simmons was arrested during a narcotics sting operation, according to the report.

His bail was set at $6,000, online jail records show.DMX has recently had a string of run-ins with the law. He was picked up Monday afternoon in Miami on an arrest warrant for having no valid driver’s license, and he pleaded not guilty to felony drug possession and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges last month in Arizona. A call to an attorney who previously represented DMX was not immediately returned. What's wrong is my man here?

LOPEZ TO GIVE DEPOSITION IN COMBS' SHOOTING LAWSUIT.

Singer/actress JENNIFER LOPEZ has been subpoenaed to testify in a lawsuit filed against hip-hop mogul SEAN 'DIDDY' COMBS over his involvement in a 1999 New York club shooting. The Latina was dating Combs at the time of the incident, and was present at the now-defunct Club New York when shots were fired in the venue on 27 December 1999, injuring two people. Combs' rap protege Shyne, real name Jamal Barrow, is currently serving a 10-year jail term after he was found guilty of assault, reckless endangerment and gun possession in the trial following the shooting. The rap heavyweight was arrested for various charges including weapons violations, but was acquitted of all counts.

However, both Combs and Shyne are currently fighting a $130 million (£65 million) civil suit filed by victim Natania Reuben, who was shot in the face during the incident. Combs completed his deposition in the case in March (08), but now Lopez must reveal all she knows at an upcoming deposition after being served by Reuben's lawyers last week (ends20Jun08), according to the New York Post. She was not called as a witness in the 2001 criminal trial and split from Combs shortly afterwards. A judge will soon be required to decide whether Shyne acted alone or as part of Combs' Bad Boy collective - the record label the hip-hop giant founded in 1993 - before the case goes to trial.

If both Combs and Shyne are required to stand trial, it will be up to a jury to decide who should take responsibility for the shooting. Shyne, who did not testify during the criminal trial, may be required to take the stand and testify about the incident. He is currently incarcerated at the Clinton Correctional Facility in New York State, and could be released as early as next year (09).

Dubbed Jacob The Jeweler, Jacob Arabov, 43, pleaded guilty in October to falsifying records and giving false statements as part of a plea deal with federal prosecutors. Here’s a mugshot from reality TV star Shante Broadus' (Snoop Dogg's wifey) weekend arrest for DUI. Fullerton Police Lt. Craig Brower says officers stopped Snoop’s wife, thirty-two, driving under the influence at approximately 12:15 a.m. Saturday morning. Shante was arrested, cited, and given a date to appear in court.

RAPPER NUMSKULL PROTESTS INNOCENCE!

LATEST: Troubled LUNIZ rapper NUMSKULL has denied the multiple sex allegations levied against him, insisting he is innocent. The star - real name Garrick Demond Husbands - has been charged with 12 felony counts, including sodomy and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, in relation to an alleged attack on a woman being referred to as "Jane Doe" in March and April last year (07).

Numskull has been in police custody at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, California since January (08), but the charges only came to light at the weekend (07-08Jun08). However, the 34-year-old's representative insists he is a "family-oriented man" who is innocent until proven guilty, reports website TMZ.com. The spokesperson also used the opportunity to gain free promotion for the rapper's forthcoming album release, the Luniz 'Lost Tapes' Album, adding, "people have not heard the last of Numskull." He faces between 25 years to life in prison if he is found guilty on the rape charges.

NO CANADA FOR HIM: Rapper Numskull charged with 12 Felonies!

BREAKING NEWS: TMZ is reporting that Rapper Numskull is living up to every bit of his name. Garrick Demond Husbands who is known as Numskull, and is one half of the of the rap group the Luniz, has been charged with twelve felony counts. According to Alameda County Superior Court documents, Garrick was charged with twelve counts of felony assault, that include shocking charges of sodomy, corporal injury and possession of a firearm. Currently details on how this situation unfolded are slim, and so far no one in Numskull's camp is talking.

What we do know, is that things definitely don't look like they are going to get any better for the one time multi-platinum artist, whose group became famous with the hit, "I Got 5 on It." He may still have a chance to have five on it ... in prison! Here are the court documents!

Atlanta’s Rapper T.I.’s community service becomes MTV series.

Rodney Ho of the AJC reports: BET a couple of years ago filmed a popular series focused on rapper Lil Kim before she went to prison for perjury and conspiracy with the classy title “Countdown to Lockdown.”

Now MTV is doing a similar “Countdown to Lockdown” with Atlanta’s T.I., according to Variety magazine. Currently, the rap star is doing 1,000 hours of community service before he enters prison next year for possessing firearms as a convicted felon and possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers.

MTV, which has already gotten footage of T.I. leaving house arrest earlier this year, plans to film some of his community service this summer and the release of his next album this fall. The network expects to air the show next year.

“Hopefully the mistakes I’ve made will be a lesson to today’s youth and they won’t go down that same path,” T.I. told Variety.

ONLY IN AMERICA: British born Rapper Slick Rick won't be deported!

New York Gov. David Paterson has granted British-born rapper "Slick Rick" a full and unconditional pardon for attempted murder and weapons convictions to help him avoid deportation. The rapper, whose real name is Ricky Walters, served six years of a possible 10-year sentence after pleading guilty in 1991 to two counts of attempted murder and eight weapons offenses for shooting his cousin and an innocent bystander. It helps too when the "Governator" is BLACK! Don't ever let me hear you shooting all over the place Rick!

Today, Misdemeanour drug possession charges against WHITNEY HOUSTON have been dropped by a Hawaiian judge, following a substance abuse assessment of the star. Houston, 44, was suspected of possessing marijuana while travelling through a Hawaiian airport in 2000 with ex-husband Bobby Brown.

The pop superstar allegedly disposed of less than half an ounce (28 grams) of the drug and three partially smoked marijuana cigarettes, before boarding a United Airlines flight from Keahole-Kona airport to San Francisco, California. The assessment, submitted in February 2008 by a New Jersey substance abuse counselor, stated Houston does not require treatment for substance abuse. She is now cleared of all charges.

Rumours of drug abuse have surrounded the star since her marriage to R&B singer Brown, and she spent time in rehabilitation facilities in 2004 and 2005. Houston's record label bosses maintain she has been clean of all illegal substances since her most recent stint three years ago.

MIMI RAGE: Mariah Carey fan throws bottle at another driver who didn't like the Mimi hit "Touch my body!"

Zachary Alan Schreiber, a Mariah Carey fan in Florida, was arrested for throwing a bottle at someone who did not appreciate the song Schreiber was blaring from his car radio.

According to perezhilton.com, Schreiber and William Greenman, who did not like the song, got into a war of words over a Mariah Carey song. Greenman pulled up next to Schreiber's car and verbally abused him. They continued arguing and Schreiber flung a beer bottle at Greenman. Schreiber has been charged with criminal mischief. A call to media relations at the Florida police department involved had the spokesperson telling me that it was "Touch My Body." What kind of antisocial person is that?
