Jeni McKenzie is probably the BEST radio personality I know in Canada, not just Toronto, the whole of Canada. As most of you may know, she is the leading on air Radio personality that promotes Canadian Artists the most. In fact Jeni was HipHossip's Radio Woman of the year in 2008. She launched her website www.jjisjeni.com . Knowing the Jeni I know, this website is not even about herself. It's about what else? CANADIAN artists and the rest of us. What cool humility?

The humble Jeni has put together a collage of videos featuring artists like Johnny Roxx, Kim Davis, featured Producers, and even beats from them. RIHANNA'S BIRTHDAY BASH TONITE IN ARIZONA WITH BOYFRIEND MATT KEMP.

The singer turns 22 today Feb 20th 2010 and will ring in her birthday with a very "private and intimate" bash thrown for her by her boyfriend, Dodger Matt Kemp, sources tell E! News exclusively.

"(Matt) really wanted to do something nice for Rihanna this year since she didn't have much of a 21st birthday last year," says one source.

According to the insider, Kemp originally wanted to throw Rihanna a surprise party, but eventually Rihanna caught on and now knows there will be a small get-together.

E! News has learned that the party will be a low-key night with Kemp and Ri-Ri's "closest friends, good Jamaican food, a photo booth, dancing and a nice cake."

Party spies tell us the event will be held at a private residence in Phoenix, where Kemp is currently staying for spring training and where Rihanna arrived to yesterday from Australia to be with Kemp.

Looks like more money, more problems for Drake. The Toronto MC recently released a statement apologizing to fans for the fake booking agents who’ve been using his name without consent to collect deposit money for concert dates and club appearances Drizzy had no knowledge of.

“It has been brought to my attention that false promoters and booking agents are illegally using my name and likeness to promote concerts and club appearances for their own financial gain,” said the statement. “It is frustrating for me to hear that many of my fans, who like myself are innocent victims in these scams, have been misled due to the greed of these promoters. I apologize to any fan that has been a victim of these circumstances or feels let down by false advertising. Please be assured that my team and I take these matters seriously and are actively cooperating with authorities. I cannot thank my fans enough for supporting my music and all that I do.”

Sky Blu, whose given name is Skyler Gordy, says in a video posted Friday on TMZ.com that he was trying to go to sleep when he leaned his seat back on the Vancouver-to-Los Angeles flight Monday. He says Romney loudly told him several times to straighten it and then grabbed his shoulder.

"I just react -- boom -- get off me, you know," Gordy says in the video, taking a swing through the air as he speaks. "And I didn't take it any further than that. I just wanted the man not to touch me; that's it."

Gordy says that Romney's wife, Ann, screamed and that the plane returned to the gate before two police officers escorted him off. After being detained briefly, he was allowed to buy a ticket for another flight.

Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom had no comment Friday about whether Gordy was the man with whom Romney had the confrontation. But aides said this week that Romney told them he thought the other person was a band member. Read the rest

BEYONCE has landed another major accolade - she has been named the most successful musician of the new century's first decade in America. Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) bosses have released their decade list of the bestselling artists and Grammy Award record breaker Beyonce tops both the albums and video certifications and ringtone certifications countdown. She landed 64 gold and platinum certifications for sales of albums and videos and a further 19 for ringtones.

The Eagles topped all other groups in total gold and platinum awards with 48, while the late Michael Jackson led male solo artists with 44, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Three albums tied for the decades highest certification at 11times platinum: 'N Sync's No Strings Attached, Shania Twain's Up! and Outkast's 2003 double Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.

Gold awards are presented for sales of 500,000 albums, digital songs or ringtones, and platinums are handed out to artists who pass the one million mark. Each multi-platinum award is counted as a separate certification. A music video goes gold at 25,000 units, platinum at 50,000 and multiplatinum for every 50,000 units after that.

Akon is considering an early retirement thanks to Lady Gaga - because signing the pop sensation to his record label has set him up financially for life.

Akon signed the Poker Face hitmaker to his KonLive label at Interscope Records in 2007 after she was dropped by another of the company's imprints.

PSYCHO WHO STALKED ASHANTI JAILED FOR 2 YEARS.

An obsessed Ashanti fan who bombarded the R&B star's mother with obscene text messages has been jailed for two years.

Devar Hurd was convicted of stalking and aggravated harassment in December, and, on Thursday, a Manhattan judge sentenced the wannabe rapper to two years imprisonment. Hurd has already served eight months behind bars awaiting his trial and subsequent sentencing.

The 31 year old was arrested last year after texting a string of lewd messages to the Grammy winner's mother, Tina Douglas - including sexual and romantic scenarios and explicit images of his genitalia.

Hurd defended his actions, insisting the messages were harmless "banter".

That’s when the rockers will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall, as part of this year’s Juno Awards ceremonies.

“To be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame is a tremendous honour,” said singer-guitarist Myles Goodwyn in a statement. “On behalf of all April Wine members, past and present, a heartfelt thank-you to the Juno Awards.”

Formed in Halifax in 1969, April Wine have accumulated a lengthy string of hits during their four-decade career — including Bad Side of the Moon, Weeping Widow, Could Have Been a Lady, Tonight is a Wonderful Time to Fall in Love, Roller, You Won’t Dance With Me, Say Hello and I Like to Rock.

This year’s Juno Awards will be handed out in St. John’s, Nfld. The full list of nominees will be revealed March 3.

WEEZY'S SENTENCING POSTPONED FOR DENTAL APPOINTMENT?

A Manhattan judge granted a request Tuesday by the rapper known as Lil Wayne to adjourn his jail sentence so some dental work can be done.

Dwayne Carter, as he is known legally, was scheduled Tuesday to be sentenced to a year in prison on gun charges by Supreme Court Judge Charles Solomon.

In the surprise request, Wayne's attorney, Stacey Richman, asked the judge to push back the Grammy award winner's sentencing so he could take care of a dental-related issue, and travel to Florida to do so.

Solomon granted the adjournment and moved the hip-hop star's sentencing to March 2.

The best dentists are actually in the jails!
